Sector: real estate agencies
SEO for real estate agencies: 13 sites, measured
A real estate agency lives on two opposite questions: “how much is my house worth” on one side, “three-room apartment for sale in the area” on the other. The same person asks them at different times of life, and more and more often asks them of an assistant. We ran 13 real sites through the engine that analyzes yours.
Before the sector averages, the number that matters is yours: the same measurement, on your address, in thirty seconds.
Check your siteThe numbers, before the explanations
50 / 100
The median of the 13 sites reached. Average 50, from the worst at 39 to the best at 68.
67
The classic part: titles, descriptions, structure, internal links.
37
How readable you are for an AI assistant that has to recommend you.
The site is a catalog, and a catalog does not answer
Thirty points between the SEO median and the GEO one, the widest gap of the five sectors. The reason is structural: the content is the listings, which expire, and there is almost nothing stable around them. No update date on thirteen sites out of thirteen, no author, no page that explains the area to someone who wants to move there.
The flaws, in order of how many sites have them
-
100%
Nobody signs the siteMedium
Thirteen out of thirteen. In a trade built on trust and commissions, there is no name to attribute what is written to. For a model it is anonymous content; for a seller who has to entrust the most expensive home they own, it is a missing signal.
-
100%
The page doesn't answer the question right awayMedium
Assistants cite the sentence that answers, not the whole page. The first lines should say who you are, what you do and for whom in plain words, before the slogans, the photos and the menu. If the answer arrives after three screens, the assistant takes someone else's.
-
100%
The business profile in the structured data is incompleteMedium
Name, address, phone, hours and official profiles (Google, LinkedIn, Wikipedia if they exist) read by a machine in a single block. When a piece is missing, the assistant doesn't know whether you are the same business it finds elsewhere and when in doubt it doesn't name you.
-
100%
No date showing how up to date the page isMedium
An assistant choosing which source to cite also looks at how fresh it is. «Updated October 2026» written on the page, and declared in the structured data, shows that someone looks after it. Without it, the page could be five years old, and with equal content the one with the date wins.
-
100%
No llms.txt fileLow
It is the file that tells an artificial intelligence which pages matter. For a site where 90% of the pages are listings that will expire, saying which pages are stable is worth double.
-
100%
The site doesn't answer the real questionsLow
“How much per square meter in the Bolognina area?” “Is it better to buy now or wait?” These are the questions people ask an assistant before walking into an agency. If the site does not name them, there is nothing to cite.
-
100%
No coordinatesLow
For a trade that is geographic by definition, not declaring where you are is the most glaring contradiction on the list.
-
100%
No map on the pageLow
Neither of the agency nor of the areas where it operates. A map is a signal that ties the site to a territory, and the territory is exactly what you sell.
The three things to start with
- 1Write about the areas, not just the listings. One page per neighborhood that covers prices, services, schools and transport links. It is the only content that does not expire and the only one that answers “what is it like to live there”.
- 2Add a date and a signature. On every page that is not a listing. It costs nothing and closes the two flaws that all thirteen measured sites have today.
- 3Declare the agency in JSON-LD. RealEstateAgent schema with address, coordinates, phone and areas served.
How we measured
- How many sites13 on the list, 13 reached.
- How many pagesUp to 5 pages per site, starting from the home page.
- With whatThe same function that analyzes your site when you press «Analyze for free». No hand-assigned scores.
- How they were chosenSearching Google for “real estate agency” together with the names of six Italian cities, and taking the agencies' own sites, not the listing portals. They are therefore among those Google already shows.
- What we do not publishThe names. Measuring a public site is what the product does every day; publishing the report card with the name on it is something else.
Thirteen sites are a small sample, and the numbers above describe these thirteen. They serve to show that certain flaws are structural to the way these sites are built, not to produce a national statistic.
